To register through N.A.B.R.A. the minimum requirements as of Friday 26th September 2008 are as follows:
1) N.A.B.R.A. will not register a litter that is older than 12 months of age, please be aware of this before you download the appropriate application
2) Your bitch must be at a minimum age of 24 months at the time of mating for N.A.B.R.A. to register the litter
3) If you do not have the signature of the sire's owner, N.A.B.R.A. reserves the right to refuse your application
4) All pups must have a pedigree name when filling out litter applications. Numbers for pups will not be accepted by N.A.B.R.A.
5) You must supply N.A.B.R.A. with individual photos of said litter stating name/number of each pup for cross referencing purposes
6) When filling in application please be careful with spelling and be sure to include appropriate kennel prefixes
7) If no kennel name is provided with the pups names/numbers when filling in applications the last name of the owner of the dam will assume the kennel prefix
8) The owner/breeder of the dam will assume their kennel prefix for the puppies, if kennel prefix is not supplied the above rule applies
9) It is a preference that both sire and dam be hip scored (Penn Hip or AVA accepted) and a copy of the certificate should be supplied to N.A.B.R.A.
10) Both sire and dam and all pups in litter, must be microchipped with a copy of the microchip certificate including owner, chip number, dogs name, sex, colour and implanter information clearly visible.
11) Sire, dam and all pups must be DNA profiled (swab taken and certified by a vet) and a copy of the Certificate of DNA Analysis must be supplied to N.A.B.R.A.
12) It is a preference that all American Bulldogs be elbow scored, NCL tested (both NCL & DNA profiling can be done at the same time through Genetic Technologies) however at this stage NCL testing and elbows are not mandatory
13) Puppy papers have now changed. Litter Registrations will now for each pup receive a three (3) generation Limited Registration Pedigree which is current for two (2) years from the date of birth
14) With three generation Limited Registration Pedigrees you can NOT register a litter. This Limited Registration Pedigree is put in place to give adequate time to follow terms and conditions 10 through to 11. When the pup has met conditions 9 though to 11 you may then apply for full registration.
15) If a puppy paper is sent to N.A.B.R.A. to register, the owner will be reminded of the terms and conditions, and the non compliance will lead to the puppy paper being forfeited to N.A.B.R.A.
16) All full registration papers will be issued with details of hip scores and DNA analysis from this point forward, pedigrees will state one to seven generation certification as we hope that all breeders would like to see on all pedigrees notification of certified testing and linage thus being beneficial in breeding programmes
17) Owners wishing to register adult dogs with N.A.B.R.A. will need to meet all terms and conditions and must supply generation paperwork that can be verified through database.
18) If a breeder requires Lifetime Limited Registration ie: never to be bred with, they need to sign the section on the three generation Limited Registration and will need to notify N.A.B.R.A. with the pups registration number so N.A.B.R.A. can enter into database appropriate information.
19) If any information supplied to N.A.B.R.A. is found to be falsified, misleading or incorrect, N.A.B.R.A. will deregister all dogs/pups from that linage and no monetary sums paid will be refunded.
